Mission Statement

The mission of the Henry County Soil & Water Conservation District is to provide leadership and administer programs to help conserve, improve, and sustain our natural resources and environment.

Objectives:

~A quality environment that provides clean, attractive & satisfying places to live, work & play.

~Quality & orderly land use that provides for the preservation of prime agricultural land and yet meets the need of urban growth.

~Quality resource management systems planned, applied & maintained with emphasis on erosion control & sediment reduction.

~A public that understands the need for wise use & protection of our soils, water, wildlife, forests & air.

A cooperative working relationship with all agencies& organizations involved in natural resource management.

The function of Conservation Districts:

To take available technical, financial & educational resources- whatever their source- and focus or coordinate them so that they meet the needs of the local land user for conservation of soil, water & related resources.
